What’s new versus the Phantom and Phantom ANC

The Phantom KV keeps the shape, fit and controls of the existing Phantom. Sena says it “retains all the trusted ergonomic features of the original PHANTOM.” The changes are in the shell, the audio and what comes in the box:

  • Aramid shell. The Phantom and Phantom ANC use a composite fiberglass shell. The KV adds a DuPont Kevlar aramid layer, visible as a woven finish. Sena presents it as an alternative to carbon fiber.
  • Bigger ANC speakers. The KV uses 45 mm ANC speaker modules. The Phantom ANC already claims up to 20 dB of wind-noise reduction, and Sena’s EICMA materials quote the same “up to 20 dB” for the KV.
  • Smarter microphone. A boom mic with AI-based noise cancellation should help riders on the other end hear you at highway speed.
  • More in the box. The Phantom ANC ships with a clear shield only. The tinted shield and Pinlock insert are $40 extras each from Sena. The KV includes a tinted visor and a Pinlock 120XLT insert.
  • A bit lighter. Sena lists the Phantom ANC at 1,720 g ±50 g in a medium. The KV is said to be about 50 g lighter, but Sena has not published an exact weight.

Battery and talk time look unchanged: 1,700 mAh and up to 35 hours, the same figures given for the Phantom ANC. Mesh range is also the same at 1.2 miles.

Who the Phantom KV is for

It is aimed at riders who want one helmet that handles calls, music and group rides without a clip-on unit, and who care about wind noise. Touring and highway riders are the obvious fit, since ANC does the most good at speed. The Midnight Hi-Vis color and the brake light also suit commuters who want to be seen. If you ride in groups that use Cardo, note that Sena’s Mesh does not talk to Cardo’s DMC mesh. You would need Bluetooth pairing or the app-based WAVE intercom. Our intercom guide explains the difference.

Sena Specter (modular) Composite Not advertised $649

Phantom ANC: the closest rival and the helmet the KV sits above. It already has the noise cancelling, Mesh 3.0 and 35-hour battery. If the KV lands in the US near its European price gap, the ANC will stay the value pick, and adding a $40 tinted shield and $40 Pinlock still leaves it far cheaper.

Phantom: the same basic helmet without ANC, now from $549 at RevZilla. It is the budget way into an integrated Sena full-face. See how Sena’s helmets compare in our best Bluetooth motorcycle helmets guide.

Specter: Sena’s current modular smart helmet at $649. Pick it if you want a flip-up chin bar. A Specter KV with 60 mm ANC speakers is also coming in 2027, price to be announced. Our Sena smart helmet roundup covers how it replaced the older Momentum line, and modular vs full-face explains the trade-offs.

The other route is a premium helmet plus a clip-on unit such as the Sena 60S EVO, which lets you pick the shell for fit and move the intercom to your next helmet.

Price and availability by market

  • United States and Canada: on sale from December 2026 through authorized powersports dealers and online, according to Sena. No US or Canadian price has been announced. RevZilla does not list it yet.
  • Europe: from January 2027 (Sena’s EICMA materials say the first quarter of 2027) at a recommended €949.
  • UK: no UK price or date announced.

The KV makes its public debut at EICMA in Milan, November 5 to 8, 2026, on Sena’s stand in Hall 7, alongside new Phantom Camera, Specter KV, Outlander Camera, Recon and Torque smart helmets. We will update this page when the US price is confirmed.
